Financial Friday’s with the WRIC: Cybersecurity and Fraud
Edgewater, NJ – Mariner’s Bank (“Mariner’s”): Mariner’s Bank recently announced its partnership with the Women’s Rights Information Center for Financial Friday’s. With concerns for cybersecurity, scams, and fraud during the COVID-19 pandemic on the rise, Mariner’s Bank took to Zoom with the Center, member participants, and community members for an hour-long seminar teaching rules and tips on keeping safe during the pandemic.
With attacks on personal information on the rise, Mariner’s covered topics beginning with how to identify a scam through to better protecting personal information to decrease the chances of becoming a victim of fraud. “The unfortunate thing is, during such strenuous times fraud and attacks are at an all-time high,” said Robert Baumann, President, and CEO. “Everyone is vulnerable, anyone can be a victim and because of that we all need to become better informed and aware of what’s going on around us,” said Baumann.
Mariner’s Bank has dedicated resources to better educate its teams giving them the ability to act as resource centers for their partners and community members. The most important takeaway: ask questions and utilize resources. No two attacks are the same, and safety comes from learning. To learn more on these topics, visit FDIC.gov and Identitytheft.gov.
